John Gottwald is very active within the disability community, as he has both dyslexia and epilepsy. Given John’s disability journey, he understands the importance of added resources and support to overcome obstacles. In 2023, he decided to start offering Special Needs Financial Planning based on his disability experience.
One obstacle John is very passionate about improving is bringing down the disability unemployment rate and normalize employment for individuals with various abilities. Looking back, John remembers what that first job meant and how it laid the foundation to what is possible.
John Proudly joined Keen Chicago Board of Directors August of 2025. He also, sits on Aspiritech Advisory board and The Cove School young professional Committee. John attended the University of Dayton for finance with a concentration in investment management.
Through work, John attained a financial certification called Chartered Special Needs Consultant. Through that, you better understand how various government benefits work, ABLE accounts and Special Needs Trusts. He is very passionate educating families the in's and out's of Special Needs planning.
