Ashley Cox

Ashley Cox is a partner in the Chicago office of Dentons US LLP, advising clients on commercial real estate matters.  She is a generalist within real estate, and while her practice is varied, she has particular expertise representing lenders in both secured and unsecured transactions, with clients who are banks and other types of lending institutions, including insurance companies.  Her clients take various roles, including balance sheet lender, agent, co-agent, and syndicate lender.  She has closed over a billion dollars in loans this past year.  Other areas of her practice include dispositions, acquisitions, leasing, development, and investments (including joint ventures and tax credit investing) for all types of assets, including office, multifamily, industrial, hotels and leisure, charter schools, healthcare facilities, and marinas.  This summer, she worked with a team to represent a local high-net worth individual’s acquisition of the Wrigley Building, a deal that was complicated by an existing historic tax credit structure.
Ashley graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2007.  Prior to that, she worked as a research associate in the Health, Emotion and Behavior Lab at Yale University, where she studied, among other things, emotional intelligence and tailoring messages to encourage healthy behaviors.  One of the post-doctoral fellows in the lab had a particular focus on social science strategies to encourage exercise and the benefits of exercise, which was therefore another of the lab’s concentrations.  Ashley has a master’s degree (Wake Forest) and bachelor’s degree (Butler) in Psychology.
